Council updates  |  18 Jan 2019

Christchurch City Council is holding its first meeting of the year on Thursday 24 January. The main items on the agenda for the public part of the meeting are:

  • A Hearings Panel report which recommends the Council approves the proposal to reduce the speed limit from 50kmh to 30kmh on St Asaph Street, from Madras Street to Hagley Avenue, and on Hagley Avenue, from Selwyn Street to Riccarton Avenue. The Hearings Panel is also recommending the Council approve the proposal to reduce the speed limit from 30kmh to 10kmh on Oxford Terrace, between Riccarton Avenue and Antigua Street, and on Antigua Street north of Tuam Street.
  • A report recommending the Council make the speed limit and parking resolutions necessary to enact the speed limit changes in the central city, assuming they accept the Hearings Panel’s recommendations.
