Council updates  |  22 Mar 2019

The Christchurch City Council is meeting on Thursday, 28 March at 9.30am. The main items on the agenda for the public part of the meeting include:

Please note the the public participation section of the Council meeting, incorporating Public Forum presentations and deputations, will be heard at 2pm. 

  • A report from the Social, Community Development and Housing Committee which recommends the Council approve the removal of a limited conservation covenant for a property in Rue Lavaud in Akaroa.
  • A report from the Social, Community Development and Housing Committee which recommends the Council endorse protection measures for monarch butterfly overwintering trees in Abberley Park and Burnside Park.
  • Reports from the Audit and Risk Management Committee recommending the Council receive the Audit Plan for the Christchurch City Council and Consolidated Group from Audit New Zealand and a report on the status of the Christchurch City Council water safety plans.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee recommending the Council proceed with design proposals for phase one to three of the Cathedral Square public realm improvement project.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council approve removal of cabbage trees outside 222 High Street and temporary plantings ahead of further development in the area.
  • Reports from the three Water Management Zone Committees presenting their Annual Reports and updates to the Council.
  • A report which recommends the Council approve grants from the Capital Endowment Fund for a water treatment system for Living Springs Trust, a pump track in Shirley Community Reserve and an addition to the Botanic D’Lights event in 2020.
