Set sail for central Christchurch to secure a spot in the Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) FanZone this week.

You can watch the live action on the large outdoor screen at Five Lanes – off Cashel Mall – as the defender, Emirates Team New Zealand (skippered by Peter Burling), takes on the challenger of record, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli of Italy, as they vie for America’s Cup honours on Waitematā Harbour in Auckland.

Racing will get under way between 4pm and 6pm on Wednesday, 10 March, Friday, 12 March and continue on Saturday, 13 March, Sunday, 14 March and Monday, 15 March.

Christchurch City Council Events and Arts Manager Tanya Cokojic says the ETNZ FanZone will be open throughout the America’s Cup.

“Our special supporter zone offers a rare opportunity to celebrate a memorable clash on the water with heaps of other fans,” she says.

“We plan to show all the sailing action – from start to finish – along with every thrill and potential spill.

“It really is the ultimate place for yachting fans, pumping with excitement as we share in the exhilaration, close calls and daring manoeuvres that leave us all buzzing.”
