Kiri and Lou at the Library: Opening weekend

The new Tūranga exhibition ‘Kiri and Lou at the Library’ is opening this weekend! Kiri and Lou is an international hit children’s TV claymation series made right here in Ōtautahi Christchurch. The exhibition explores the world of feelings, friendship, and stop-motion animation.

Come along this weekend and enjoy exciting activities, including watching episodes on the big screen, papercraft, themed scavenger hunt and a special edition of Whānau Storytime with Olivia Tennet, the voice of Kiri! Read more about the exhibition here.

Lyttelton Craft and Treasure Market

Head over to Collett’s Corner in Lyttelton on Saturday morning to explore the Lyttelton Craft and Treasure Market! All are welcome from 9am – 1pm to check out the locally made handcrafts and vintage treasures.

The Craft and Treasure Market is located next to the Lyttelton Farmer’s Market – so make sure to pop over and grab a coffee or a bite to eat while you browse through the crafts!

The Arts Centre Market

The Arts Centre Market is back, every Sunday 10am – 3pm rain or shine! Come and experience the beauty and quality of local, artisian-made goods and treasures. Meet the makers and explore what О̄tautahi craftspeople have to offer.

Expect a range of delicious foods, treats and drinks, alongside vintage clothes, handmade products and unique crafts and treasures. The market is located at The Arts Centre, 2 Worcester Boulevard.

Knit Around the Tram

Yarnarchy 2023, an Ōtautahi yarn bombing festival, launches on Saturday 10 June! Head down to Cathedral Junction at 10am to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day by knitting or crocheting while you loop around the city on the Christchurch Tram!

Afterwards, walk to Tūranga Library to grab a cuppa at Foundation cafe and knit or crochet while you yarn at the library. No bookings are required for this free event and the first tram of the day will be free. Learn more here.

The In Crowd at Two Thumb Manchester

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear The In Crowd live at Two Thumb Brewing this Saturday! Enjoy great music and great beer at this free event from 7pm – 10pm.
