Pool Party – School’s Out For Summer

Grab your friends and whānau, and pack your togs, towel and sunscreen - summer pool parties are back and you're in for a treat. Come along to Jellie Park Recreation and Sport Centre this Sunday from midday to 5pm for a pool party for all thrill seekers. There will be an inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castle, free ice creams and a scavenger hunt. General pool admission price applies.

North Canterbury Creative Market

The North Canterbury Creative Market is getting festive this weekend with their biggest market of the year. Browse through over 100 stalls of talented artisans showcasing their creations, and enjoy a day filled with creativity, community and shopping delights. The market will be on from 11am – 3pm Sunday at the Kaiapoi Club, 113 Raven Quay.

Toi Toi Opera – A Christmas Carol

Just in time for Christmas, Toi Toi Opera brings you an abridged version of renowned Ōtautahi composer Philip Norman’s operatic telling of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, with an all-local cast and creative team. Relax at The Arts Centre on Sunday evening with a light-hearted musical extravaganza performed outdoors – free festive fun for the whole family.

The Vegan Night Mākete

Christchurch’s regular Vegan Night Mākete (market) showcases the best local plant-based foods and goods with around 25 stalls offering a huge variety of savouries and sweets plus musical entertainment. The Christmas Mākete will be on this Saturday at the Phillipstown Community Hub, 39 Nursery Road. Come along from 5pm – 8pm Saturday.

Schwifty Sessions

Prizz and Friends presents Schwifty Sessions – a night of house-tech, afro beats and techno selections. Kick off the weekend this Friday night at the Wunderbar in Lyttelton by grooving to Ōtautahi local DJs; Phrench Konnektion, DJ Dyl, Prizz and Siliconbeat. Grab a ticket for $15, please note this is an R18 event.
