Calling all book lovers! Treat your shelves at the annual two-day Library book sale.

The Big Bargain Book Sale will be at Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre on Friday 21 March from 9am – 7pm and Saturday 22 March from 9am – 4pm.

“We know how much the public loves this highly anticipated event, so we’re excited that it’s back for another year,” says Christchurch City Council Head of Libraries and Information Carolyn Robertson.

The sale is a chance to buy a range of books and other material that has outlived its purpose in the library’s collection.

“There will be thousands of books, magazines, and audio-visual items such as DVDs and CDs for sale for great prices,” Ms Robertson says.

“The shelves are restocked across the two days, so it doesn’t matter when you come along – there will always be a variety of material to look through.”

Prices start at 20c for magazines, rising to $1 for young adult and children’s books, and $3 for fiction and non-fiction books and audio-visual items such as DVDs and CDs.

Bring your bag to carry your purchases or buy a limited-edition tote bag for $20.
