The Colombo Dog Fashion Show
A fashion show like no other! Come and see dynamic dogs strut their stuff on the catwalk at The Colombo Dog Fashion Show this Sunday, hosted by Christchurch comedy legend Shay Horay. There will be all sorts of costumed canines heading down the runway, and it’s free to come along and watch!
There will be spot prizes and a big prize for the top dog, a studio set up for puppy portraits, a selection of doggy fashion wares on hand, and handcrafted dog enrichment toys to take a look at. This year the chosen charity that the show will support is Assistance Dogs NZ, who provide trained dogs to clients with disabilities. Bring your furry friend along and enjoy the show from 10am at The Colombo.
Christ’s College Students & Old Boys’ Art Exhibition
The Christ’s College Students & Old Boys’ Art Exhibition is open to the public this Saturday and Sunday from 10am–8pm, in the Christ’s College Assembly Hall Foyer.
Curated by award-winning young artist Oli Aikawa, the exhibition features works by renowned contemporary artist Toby Raine, New York-based creative innovator Henry Hargreaves, and leading sustainability-focused artist Ciaran Banks. Come along and check it out this weekend.
Earthquake Stories Walk
Join Our Stories Project for a guided audio walk of the central city, where you’ll hear stories from people who were in the city on 22 February 2011. The stories have been sourced from the CEISMIC digital archive held by the University of Canterbury.
You’ll be provided with headsets to hear these first-hand stories as we walk through the places where they happened. Make sure to book in for this free session, taking place at 10am Sunday from Quake City Museum.

Come along to the weekly Lyttelton Craft and Treasure Market on London and Oxford Streets this Saturday! The market is on every Saturday, 9am – 1pm, rain or shine.
Check out the locally-made New Zealand handcrafts and vintage treasures. Take a look through jewellery, timber craft, clothing, woollen handcrafts, toys, natural body products and much more – plus, get to meet the owners.
Plantarama
The annual Plantarama at Cashmere Presbyterian Church is on again this year from 9am to midday Saturday! Come along and stock up with plants for the vegetable garden, plants for the flower garden and tools to help with the process.
