
This weekend marks the close of the 25th World Buskers Festival so don't miss the chance to hit the central city streets or New Brighton to watch them in action.

With another warm weekend on the cards for Christchurch, conditions are looking ideal for the final two days of the festival, which brings together 55 performers from 14 countries.
This weekend the buskers will be performing in all the usual central city spots as well as in New Brighton on Saturday.

All things beer will be celebrated at the Great Kiwi Beer Festival this weekend. This adults-only festival is being held in Hagley Park on Saturday and will showcase a range of more than 300 local, national and international craft beers and ciders.
There will also be live performances, cooking demonstrations, seminars and the chance to meet the brewers behind some of your favourite craft beer brands.
Waltham pool party
Teenagers can end their school holidays with a splash at Waltham Pool on Saturday. It is playing host to a classic Kiwi pool party between midday and 2pm. There will be games and inflatables. Normal pool charges apply.
Want to learn to play quidditch? The Quidditch Association of New Zealand is running a workshop this weekend at the Spencer Beach Holiday Park Lodge for those who are interested in trying quidditch.
You’ll get an introduction to the rules of the games, the chance to meet some players from overseas, and the opportunity to play in a mini-tournament. Simply bring yourself and something to drink. All other equipment and food will be provided.

Country-rock artist Cam Scott is headlining this weekend’s Ingham’s Lazy Sundays concert. Since debuting his recording career in late 2014 with summer country-pop track, "Somethin' Bout a Girl", Cam Scott has performed on Australian stages at CMC Rocks QLD (alongside Lady Antebellum, Big & Rich & Lee Brice), and at Tamworth Country Music Festival (alongside Morgan Evans & Kaylee Bell).
He was recently named CMANZ’s Male Artist of the Year so make sure you catch his performance in the Archery lawn of the Botanic Gardens between 3.30 and 5pm on Sunday.
For free family fun, including the chance to shoot some hoops with the Canterbury Rams, head to Rauora Park, in the central city, on Sunday between 10am and 1pm. There will be free gym classes, kite making, face-painting, and activities and displays organised by the Police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand. There will also be a chance to take walking tours around the area and to learn more about homes being built in the East Frame.
