Giant Christmas bauble decorations are proving a hit with visitors to the Botanic Gardens this year.
Hundreds of people flocked to the gardens over the weekend to get Christmas selfies and family photos with the giant baubles on the garden’s Armstrong Lawn.
Visitors will also find 12 reindeer on the front lawn of the gardens near Peacock Fountain.
Botanic Gardens Operations Manager Jeremy Hawker said this was the first year the gardens had installed the baubles.
“They have certainly been a hit so far. There were hundreds of people down here at the weekend with their selfie sticks or with the kids, getting their Christmas photos for this year’s Christmas card.
“It’s been fantastic to bring a bit of festive spirit to the Gardens and we’re loving that it’s drawing in the crowds to enjoy the Botanic Gardens at this time of year.”
The lights that were previously on the Christmas tree in Cathedral Square would be installed on a tree on the front lawn near Peacock Fountain this Thursday.
“It’s definitely starting to feel like Christmas and we’re all enjoying the buzz around the gardens this year,” Mr Hawker said.
