Christchurch City Council is meeting at 9.30am on Thursday 9 June. The main items on the agenda for the public part of the meeting are:

  • The monthly reports from the Community Boards outlining the significant issues and projects in their areas.
  • A report seeking a decision from the Council on the future of a large block of land in Diamond Harbour.
  • A report seeking the approval of the Council to enter into a new ground lease agreement with Armagh Wells Limited over 277 square metres of Rauora Park.
  • A reporting seeking the Council’s endorsement of the inclusion of an additional $5.7 million in capital funding in the Council’s 2024 budget to allow the completion of the Halswell Junction Road extension project.
  • A Hearings Panel report that recommends the Council adopt the draft Water Supply and Wastewater Bylaw 2022 and the draft Stormwater and Land Drainage Bylaw 2022 to replace the Water Supply, Wastewater and Stormwater Bylaw 2014.
  • A Hearings Panel report on Private Plan Change 6, which seeks to have adjoining land to the north of the existing Homebase retail centre on Marshland Road rezoned from residential suburban zone to commercial retail park.
  • A report that recommends the Council adopt the Ihutai-Estuary and Coastal Stormwater Management Plan.
  • A report informing the Council of the high level results from the 2021/22 Residents Survey.
  • A monthly report from the Mayor outlining her external activities and the key decisions of the external bodies she attends on behalf of Council.
  • The fortnightly update on the response to the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant fire and the efforts to reduce the smells from the plant.
  • A report on the Te Kaha multi-use arena project, which recommends the Council consult the public about whether they want more money invested in the arena. Please note that this report will be published as a supplementary agenda item early next week.
