Council adopts plan for growth

The Christchurch City Council has adopted a plan for city growth – Our Space 2018-2048: Greater Christchurch Settlement Pattern Update Whakahāngai O Te Hō Nohoanga.

Prepared jointly with partner organisations in the Greater Christchurch Partnership, Our Space aims to ensure Christchurch and surrounding districts work together to accommodate expected future housing and business needs in the next 30 years.

It highlights the likely changes in how we live and work in the future as the population increases by a projected 150,000 people across Greater Christchurch.

Our Space links with the District Plan and integrates collaborative regeneration work and transformation of the public transport system.
