The free festival has been organised by Christchurch City Council to showcase the talents of local musicians and will run from 19 to 29 November.

“All the shows during the festival are free to attend but if you are wanting to go to one of the indoor shows you will need a ticket. These are now available through our website,’’ says Council Events and Arts Manager Lucy Blackmore.

“Tickets are not required for the two outdoor concerts in Victoria Square on Saturday 28 November and Sunday 29 November.’’

The Go Live! festival will open with The Wendys, Emma Dilemma, The Tacks, and Imperial April performing at Blue Smoke in the beautifully restored Tannery complex in Woolston.

Other acts confirmed to perform during the festival include Dillastrate, Stomping Nick, Lil Chuck, Adam Hattaway & the Haunters, Mark Vanilau,, Easy Hearts, The Settlers, PRINS and Thunderwulf.

The outdoor concerts in Victoria Square will feature One Waka, Dolphin Friendly, Jason Kerrison,  Dusty Hustle, The Eastern, Ranchsliders, Deep Water Creek and Katie Thompson.

“We are so excited to be bringing people this festival,’’ Ms Blackmore says. “It’s been one hell of a year and we are all looking forward to kicking back and enjoying some great music from our local musicians.’’
