Wrap up the school holidays with a jam-packed weekend!

Community planting day at Englefield Reserve

Come along to Englefield Reserve, Northwood, on Saturday for a community planting day. The Styx Living Laboratory will be hosting the event and planting their 150,000th plant!

Come along from 10am – 12pm to get involved.

School holiday inflatable fun at Jellie Park

Rush, jump, slip, slide, biff and bash your way through the big inflatable obstacle course at Jellie Park this weekend. The course will be up and running between 12.30 – 3pm over the school holidays.

Search the Gardens to find 12 hidden gnomes as part of the Gnome Quest

Gnome Quest

Join in for a self-guided trail through the Christchurch Botanic Gardens as part of the free Gnome Quest. 12 gnomes will be spotted around the Gardens, waiting next to a plant from their favourite place. Try and find them all!

Pick up a free passport from the Visitor Centre and search through the Gardens on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, 9am – 4pm. This event is part of the KidsFest series running until 21 July, view all the events here.

Crafting for Wellbeing

Foster your creativity and resilience while learning a new skill. Drop into Tūranga, relax and enjoy some ‘me’ time as you explore a new craft each month – from origami and card making to crochet and embroidery.

This Saturday, pop in between 2 – 3.30pm for the free workshop. No bookings are required, all materials will be supplied. This session will take place on Tūhuratanga | Discovery, Level 3, more here.

Talk by Ann McEwan on From Here on the Ground

Architectural heritage expert and art historian Dr Ann McEwan explores the changing built environment through artworks on display in From Here on the Ground. Ann lectured in Art History at the University of Waikato for ten years before establishing her heritage consultancy practice in 2006.
