Cantabrians are being encouraged to have their say on Life in Christchurch – a Council survey aimed at monitoring the Council’s progress towards community outcomes.

Christchurch City Council Monitoring and Research Team Leader Kath Jamieson said the 2016 Community Outcomes survey was a chance for people to voice their views on the city.

"We are doing the survey to understand how a wide range of people in the city feel about living in Christchurch. The information provides valuable insight on resident perceptions of life and wellbeing issues, both now and into the future. This will complement data we gather from secondary sources such as government agencies.”

Ms Jamieson said the team wanted to hear from as many people as possible, including those don't usually engage.

“We are keen to hear from young people, those in disability communities and from a wide range of ethnic groups. We are encouraging people to copy the survey link to their friends, family/whanau, work colleagues and other networks. This will ensure as many people as possible get a chance to tell us what they think.”

The survey results would help monitor progress toward achieving Council community outcomes, and provide detailed information for community governance teams to advocate on behalf of, and work with, a wide range of communities, including young people, disability and ethnic communities.
