Christchurch City Council is on the hunt for people to staff Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool, which is due to open later this year.

The $22 million facility on the corner of Smith Street and Linwood Avenue will have a multi-use 25-metre lane pool, a deep water splash pool for ‘manus’, a family spa pool, a learn-to-swim pool, and a pool and water deck for toddlers.

There will also be community meeting rooms and a kitchen, while outside there will be picnic tables, tennis and multi-use courts, cycle stands, parking and plenty of open areas for all ages to enjoy.

“Te Pou ToeToe: Linwood Pool is going to be a great community facility and we want a great team from the community,’’ says Council Head of Recreation, Sports and Events Nigel Cox.

“We are looking for lifeguards, swim education instructors, recreation tutors, group fitness and aqua fitness instructors, and customer experience representatives who can help ensure that people using the facility get the most out of their visit.

“If you want any advice or have any questions about applying for these roles, come along to one of our support sessions at the Linwood Library and have a chat to us,’’ Mr Cox says.

The sessions are being held from 9.30 to 11.30am on Thursday 3 June and from for 4 to 6pm on Thursday 10 June.

People who want to talk to someone about applying can contact Carlee Hattrill, Recruitment Advisor with the Council, at carlee.hattrill@ccc.govt.nz or 03 941 5808.
