Help keep Christchurch beautiful

You can do your bit to help keep Christchurch beautiful this weekend by joining in a city centre clean-up. Keep Christchurch Beautiful has organised the clean-up which will begin at the Chalice in Cathedral Square at 11am and take you around some of the new developments in the CBD. You will be able to learn about what's been happening in the central city and pick up rubbish as you go. The clean-up will end at the picnic area of the Margaret Mahy playground.

Community planting day

Want to help create a forest? The annual community planting day at Travis Wetland is being held this Saturday, from 10am to 12.30pm, and is your chance to help plant a mixed podocarp forest.

This year's planting will bring the total area planted over the past few years to six hectares, which is  about the same size as Riccarton Bush.  If you want to be part of this fun community event meet at the Travis Wetland carpark on Beach Rd at 10am. Wear sturdy boots or gumboots and bring gardening gloves, if you have them.  There will be a BBQ at 12.30pm when the planting work is done.

She Loves Golf

Come along and give golf a try at the Canterbury She Loves Golf event being hosted at the Riccarton Park Golf Complex in Steadman Rd, Yaldhurst on Sunday between 10am and 1pm.  This is a great chance for women of all ages to come along and give golf a try in a fun environment. Admission is free and there will be loads of activities and free give-aways.
