Keen to get lots of activities lined up for the kids for the winter school holidays?

Then jump online and start securing your tickets for the KidsFest events that will be held between Saturday 4 July and Sunday 19 July. Tickets go on sale today.

“This year’s KidsFest is going to be different than past years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. While we will not be staging any large-scale events, there are still going to be some great small-scale events that kids can take part in,’’ says Council Events and Arts Manager Lucy Blackmore.

“If your kids dream of making it big in the music industry, then book them in for a BeatONE:Echospace session where they will get to make their own music in a proper recording studio.

“Budding techno-whizzes will love the Battlebots sessions where they can develop their confidence in programming, robot buildings and mechanics and compete against each other to see whose robot is best.

“Willowbank is also offering kids the chance to be a junior keeper for a day. They’ll get to work alongside the park’s keepers and help feed and care for the animals and birds so it will be great experience.

“There’s a whole heap of other events planned so check out the programme and make sure you book early because spaces are limited,’’ Ms Blackmore says.

This year’s KidsFest will also, for the first time, feature some online activities for kids to do, the majority of which will be free.

The online content can be accessed by a new interactive entertainment space within the KidsFest website.
