Linwood Library will close and the Customer Service Desk will relocate for three weeks from Sunday 4 April so that improvements can be made to the facility.
“When Linwood Library and Customer Service Centre reopens on Tuesday, 27 April, visitors will be able to enjoy new furnishing, décor and a modified layout that will better suit their needs,” says Christchurch City Council Head of Libraries and Information Carolyn Robertson.
Customer Services will continue to operate while the library is closed. The desk will relocate to a spot directly opposite the Linwood Library entrance inside Eastgate Mall. It will keep its usual Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm hours.
"During the library’s temporary three week closure, people can return borrowed items to any library in our network. Reserved items will be made available at the nearby Shirley Library, unless customers request otherwise,’’ Ms Robertson says.
“Of course, people can still access our full range of digital resources including eBooks, eMagazines and digital newspapers.’’
The closest libraries for Linwood residents are the Aranui Library, Shirley Library and Tūranga. All are open seven days a week.
