Calling all revolting children!

Tūranga Central Library is hosting a one-off Matilda: The Musical and Roald Dahl-themed afternoon tomorrow.

The free event runs from 2-3pm on Wednesday 26 January at Hapori | Community, Level 1.

Special guests set to make an appearance include cast members from the Showbiz Christchurch season of Matilda the Musical playing the roles of despotic headmistress Miss Trunchbull, Miss Phelps the librarian and Matilda herself.

There will also be stories, activities, giveaways and more.

Head of Libraries and Information Carolyn Robertson says the event will have broad appeal.

“Roald Dahl remains one of our most beloved children’s authors and Matilda is a particular favourite. Having the Showbiz actors here at Tūranga bringing those wonderful characters to life is going to be quite special.”

Matilda the Musical is set to open at the Isaac Theatre Royal on 14 April.

No bookings are required for tomorrow’s event however under the red traffic light setting numbers will be limited to 90.
