Local design and commercial construction company Apollo Projects has secured naming rights to Orangetheory Stadium through a new partnership with Venues Ōtautahi.

The agreement will be in place from 1 August 2023 until the end of life of the venue. It will enable Venues Ōtautahi to continue to attract major sporting and entertainment events to the Canterbury region.

“It is with great pleasure that we announce Apollo Projects as our naming rights partner for the Stadium in Addington. Both Apollo Projects and Venues Ōtautahi are proudly local, take a community-centric approach to how we do business and are aligned in wanting to deliver the best outcomes for a region we are so proud of,” says Venues  Ōtautahi Chief Executive Caroline Harvie-Teare.

“Apollo Projects has an outstanding reputation for delivering state-of-the-art projects and is known for its commitment to sustainability. The company's values align closely with Venues Ōtautahi's commitment to social and environmental sustainability and taking a role in contributing positively to the social fabric of the region.”

Ms Harvie-Teare says Apollo Projects Stadium will continue to serve as a vibrant hub for sporting events, concerts, and community gatherings, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of entertainment in the South Island.

“Apollo Projects are incredibly proud to become the naming sponsor for the Stadium and look forward to all the positive outcomes that this support will bring, says Apollo Projects Director/CEO Paul Lloyd.

“At Apollo our purpose is ‘building communities’ and with the sponsorship it will unlock opportunities to enable people that otherwise would not have the means to attend to experience live rugby union.”

The Stadium is home to the Crusaders and Canterbury Rugby. Other events held over the past year include Elton John, Snoop Dogg, SIX60, All Blacks versus Argentina, Football Ferns versus Korea Republic, and New Zealand Warriors versus the Melbourne Storm. The next upcoming major event is the Foo Fighters concert on 24 January, 2024.
