Fancy an energetic, playful puppy? Christchurch City Council's animal shelter is looking for new homes for two male puppies.

The first puppy up for adoption is a black Labrador Staffordshire cross aged about four months old. He was dropped off at the shelter last week and is full of energy. He will need lots of exercise but is a playful guy with a good personality.

The second puppy, Chuck, is a five-month-old white and brindle Staffordshire cross. Like the other puppy he'll require plenty of exercise and loves to play.

Animal adoption fees are $36, plus registration. The shelter will microchip for free.

Chuck is ready to join a new family.
