Christchurch cricket fans won’t have to wait long to see their cricketing heroes in action as October’s T20 Tri-Series with the Blackcaps, Bangladesh and Pakistan is going to be played at Hagley Oval.

The Tri-Series is part of the build-up to the T20 World Cup in Australia and will involve seven matches over seven days, starting on Friday 7 October.

“We’re thrilled that New Zealand Cricket has chosen Hagley Oval as the venue for this T20 series. It’s going to be on in the last week of the school holidays so it will be great chance for kids to see top cricketers in action before they head across the Tasman for the world cup,’’ says Christchurch City Council Recreation and Sport Services Manager David Bailey.

Hagley Oval will also host a one-day international between the Blackcaps and India on Wednesday 30 November and a T20 match between the White Ferns and Bangladesh on Friday 2 December.

The ground will be back in the international spotlight again in March 2023 when the Blackcaps will play both a test and a one-day international against Sri Lanka there.

Tickets for all the matches are available now through tickets.nzc.nz.
