The results of this year’s Working@Council survey reveal a steady improvement in staff satisfaction across Christchurch City Council.
Sentiment has increased by between 2% and 11% for every question compared to the previous year.
Overall staff satisfaction exceeded the Local Government benchmark for the first time since the Council started conducting the annual survey in 2022.
The feedback highlighted the sense of pride staff take in their work and the impact they have on the Christchurch community.
The Working@Council survey explores key areas such as leadership, organisational culture, and performance, providing an insight into how staff feel about their workplace and identifying areas for improvement. This year’s results reflect a growing optimism among staff.
“Our progress over the past two years is a testament to the dedication and unwavering commitment of our teams to serve our community,” said Chief Executive Mary Richardson.
“This year, we’ve seen improvements across every survey question.”
The survey results underscore the collective effort of Council staff to continuously improve and support one another, and importance of an environment where people feel valued and motivated to achieve their best.
“Staff are proud to work at the Council and are here because they want to serve our communities and make a difference,” Ms Richardson added.
