With the long weekend ahead and the cracker weather forecast, there’s plenty of fun to be had in Christchurch.

Summer Sundays – Classic Rock Sessions

Summer Sundays returns this summer with four free concerts to entertain the crowds! This weekend we have a Classic Rock Session with Tattoo Voodoo ad Sign of the Firebird.

Tattoo Voodoo presents a collection of some of the greatest Rolling Stones hits, delivered with the style and swagger you would expect from the Stones themselves. Sign of the Firebird is one of the city’s favourite classic rock cover bands – with a set of songs featuring some of the biggest rock songs from the golden era of the 60s and 70s.

Head down to Archery Lawn in the heart of the city this Sunday from 2pm – 4pm to enjoy this free event.

Kite Day 2023

This well-loved Kiwi summer event is back! Grab your kite, pack a picnic and head to New Brighton beach to come fly with us. Enjoy a day in the sun with your friends and whanau and check out the spectacular view of the sky lit up with colourful kites.

There will be sandcastles, games, and a heap more to keep you entertained! Now that summer has finally arrived, it’s forecasted to be a hot weekend so remember to be sun smart – slip, slop, slap and wrap.

Come down to the New Brighton Pier this Saturday from 11am – 3pm. Entry is free and all are welcome.

Linwood Village Market

This weekend is the monthly Linwood Village Market! There’ll be books, original crafts, jewellery, collectables, plants, surplus garden produce, boutique op shop and more.

Make your way to the Linwood Community Arts Centre on Saturday from 10am – 1pm. This market only happens once a month, so you don’t want to miss it!

Manu Competition

Pack your togs, towel, sunscreen and gather your mates – show us what you’ve got at Waltham Summer Pool! There’s six heats being held across the city, leading up to the grand final on Sunday 12 February at Jellie Park.

Get amongst the fun and be in to win prizes and become the manu champion on Sunday from midday to 2pm.

2023 Christchurch Year of the Rabbit Parade

Join us in bidding farewell to the Year of the Tiger and welcoming in the Year of the Rabbit! Come and see the lions, dancers, musicians, dragon and more this Sunday from 3pm – 5pm.

The free parade starts at the Bridge of Remembrance and ends at Cathedral Square with a bunch of more performances.
