Time is running out for people keen to take a dip in a public outdoor pool one last time before the colder weather sets in.
Jellie Park's outdoor pool shuts up shop for the winter with a Final Splash Down pool party on Sunday, March 27 from midday, while the city's paddling pools will also be closing at Easter.
The other Council-run outdoor pools have already closed.
Unique, 4, and Levi Ormsby, 2, enjoy a final swim at the Jellie Park pool.
It has been a mixed season for the city's outdoor pools with cold weather in December and January keeping visitor numbers down. February's heat wave though saw numbers pick up.
This summer was the first since the earthquakes that all Council-owned outdoor pools were open.
The Waltham and Te Hāpua pools each had more than 30,000 visitors over the summer, while the Lyttelton and Templeton pools each drew about 8500 users.
Council Western Area Recreation Manager Nigel Cox said it had been great to see the pools back in use and people having fun in the water.
"One of the really great things is the primary schools have been able to run their school swimming sports this year which is something they haven't been able to do for a while,'' Mr Cox said.
While the outdoor pools are closing, people can still swim at the indoor pools at Jellie Park, the Graham Condon Recreation and Sport Centre, and the Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre.
The 25-metre indoor pool at Jellie Park has been closed for repairs but is due to re-open on Tuesday, March 29.
