Children’s Day 2023
Children’s Day is all about celebrating our tamariki, with live performances, free rides and fun stallholder activities!
This free event is being held on Sunday between 11am to 3pm at the Green Space, corner of 152 New Brighton Road and Locksley Ave.
Off Centre Programme
With something for everyone, the Off Centre programme is an arts festival bursting with music, comedy, theatre, food, a market, and vibrant entertainment to celebrate The Arts Centre’s glorious restoration!
This weekend The Arts Centre will once again been filled with the Arts. You’ll be treated to more than 50 events from over 250 local artists who will take the stage from around Aotearoa. Read more about this jam-packed weekend here.
Brazilian Carnival
Come and party with us as we celebrate Brazilian Carnival on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm. Listen to samba music by Christchurch School of Music, get involved in samba dance and enjoy a parade with your own made up shakers and drums!
Make your way to Tūranga, 60 Cathedral Square, and come in your most colourful party outfit!
Swannanoa County Fair
The iconic country fair is back for 2023! With a huge range of craft and trade stalls, a school plant stall, a white elephant sale, games and rides, delicious food and refreshments plus all-day entertainment, the Swannanoa Country fair is a great day out with your friends and whānau.
Head over to Swannanoa Domain, 1302 Tram Road, from 10am to 3pm this Sunday to check it out – adults $5 donation, kids under 15 free.
Anatomical Garden by Fiona Van Oyen
This weekend is your last chance to take a look at Fiona Van Oyen's print exhibition at The Arts Centre. The prints are a response to specific landscapes that have meaning to Fiona in her personal map of self.
This is a free exhibition, located at The Central Arts Gallery, open from 10am to 4pm.
