Fantastic food and funky arts and crafts are just some of the things you will find on offer in Christchurch this weekend.
For the first time the Lost and Found Market is bringing its unique range of independent designers and arts and crafts to the Arts Centre.
The market is being held in the Great Hall and North Quad of the Arts Centre on Saturday between midday and 4pm and will have about 50 stalls showcasing independent designers and handmade arts and crafts.
There will also be a vintage emporium, live music, and food and coffee.
The Under Fives Market is on this Saturday between 10am and 12.30pm at the Cashmere Club. Held just three times a year, the market is a great place to pick up new and pre-owned baby and kids clothing, toys, books, furniture and other items geared towards the under-fives. Entry is $2 for adults, children free.
If you’re a foodie, you won’t want to miss The Christchurch Food Show. On at Horncastle Arena, the Christchurch Food Show gives you the chance to taste and buy a huge range of local and international foods, wines, beers, coffees, kitchen equipment and much more. You can also see culinary whizzes like Annabel Langbein, Jonny Schwass and Ray McVinnie demonstrating their skills in the Cooking Theatre. The Christchurch Food Show starts today and is open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Cross over into the Waimakariri District on Saturday and join the fun at Eats and Beats. Held in Rangiora’s Victoria Park, Eats and Beats is a festival of food and music and is designed to appeal to all ages. There will be live jazz and blues music, children’s entertainment, gourmet food markets and a selection of craft beers and wine. Entry is free and there is also free parking. Eats and Beats starts at 3pm and runs until 8pm.
On Sunday The Faeries are having a picnic at Rawhiti Domain in New Brighton and you're invited. The picnic is on from 12.30 to 2.30pm and there will be games the kids can join in, free face-painting, giant bubbles and hula hoops. There will be a small faerie gift for everyone who comes dressed as a faerie. Don''t miss the fun because this will be last Faerie picnic until November.
