Two central city developments have been formally opened by Prime Minister John Key.

During a busy day in Christchurch the Prime Minister opened Lane Neave House and the BNZ Centre.

Lane Neave House, at 141 Cambridge Tce, is a six-storey building that provides office accommodation on the top five floors and a café and visitor parking on the ground floor.

It was built by Southbase Construction at a cost of $20.4 million as the home of law firm Lane Neave.

The BNZ Centre, at 120 Hereford St, was built by developer Nick Hunt to house offices and shops. Several food outlets have already opened there, as has Scorpio Books.

The Prime Minister was joined at both openings by Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel.
