People using Christchurch City Council’s public facilities are being reminded they should use the New Zealand COVID-19 tracer app to scan in every time they visit.

“There are QR codes displayed at all our public facilities and it is really important that people use them to scan in,’’ says Mary Richardson, from the Council’s COVID-19 Incident Management Team.

“We have been very fortunate to have no community transmission cases in Christchurch for several months, but we are still in the midst of a worldwide pandemic and we cannot afford to get complacent.

“We need people to use the NZ COVID-19 tracer app to scan the codes at our facilities so that health officials can respond quickly to contain any outbreak,’’ Ms Richardson says.

“Please, if you are visiting one of our libraries, pools, sport and recreation centres, community centres, service centres, the Civic Offices, the Christchurch Art Gallery, the Akaroa Museum or the Visitors’ Centre in the Botanic Garden take a minute to scan the QR code so that we can help keep everyone safe.’’
