If you are keen to meet the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, you will get your best chance during their public walk-about in Cathedral Square on Friday afternoon.

The Royal couple, who are visiting Christchurch as part of their week-long tour of New Zealand, are spending tomorrow morning visitng Tuahiwi Marae and Cashmere High School, where they will be joined by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

They will then travel to Tūranga, where the Prince will attend a reception for the Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Project  and inspect the quake-damaged Cathedral, while the Duchess attends a workshop for young people participating in The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition.

After that, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will go for a public walk-about through Cathedral Square.

People wanting the opportunity to meet the Royals are encouraged to be in Cathedral Square from 1.30pm.

The roads into Cathedral Square will be closed to vehicles from 9.30am Friday morning so people will only be able to access the Square on foot.

The roads  around the Square will remain closed until mid-afternoon.
