With only a week left of school holidays, check out what’s on offer this weekend for the whole family.

The 2022 Christchurch Brick Show

This Saturday and Sunday, over 200 LEGO enthusiasts and collectors will show their designs, collections and contraptions to inspire creativity and innovation. You’ll have the opportunity to go hands-on with various LEGO-focused activities in Imagination Station’s huge build and learn zone, sponsored by Mitre 10 Mega. Held at Christchurch Area from 9am to 5pm, tickets are $5 and can be purchased online.

KidsFest

With another week left of the school holidays don’t forget to check out what’s on offer with KidsFest. There is over 300 events from dance workshops and arts and craft to trampolining and cooking classes. Browse through the activities on the KidsFest website.

German Mid-winter Christmas Market

Come along this weekend to Riverside’s German Christmas Market for themed fun, shopping, food and drinks (yes, that means mulled wine for adults). There'll be live music, nativity plays and you can meet Santa. The market will be on from 9am to 6pm and entry is free.

Inflatable fun at Christchurch pools

Rush, jump, slip, slide, biff and bash your way through our inflatable obstacle course this weekend. To celebrate school holidays, there will be inflatable fun across several Christchurch pools.

  • Te Pou ToeToe: Linwood Pool – Saturday 16 July between 1pm and 3pm
  • Graham Condon – Sunday 17 July between 12.30pm and 2.30pm
  • Taiora QEII – Sunday 17 July between 2pm and 4pm
  • Jellie Park – Sunday 17 July between 12.15pm and 3.45pm.

Radical Botanical

A group exhibition hosted throughout July at Stoddart Cottage in Diamond Harbour is showcasing the ways in which artists explore critical, playful and challenging new ways of engaging with plants at the birthplace of painter, Margaret Stoddart. Through painting, photography, assemblage, ceramics, printmaking, olfactory art and mixed media, the artists of this group show all explore critical, playful, and challenging new ways of engaging with plants. Admission is free.

NZ Multicultural Music Gala Concert

This Saturday night the premier youth multicultural music festival will take place at the Christchurch Town Hall, bringing together accomplished musicians and representation from our community and allowing our youth participants to experience music education, cultural exchange and performance in a whole new way.
