The Christchurch Brick Show 2024
NZ’s largest LEGO show is back this weekend with over 250 exhibitors, including a world record attempt for the largest LEGO ferris wheel, a Willy Wonka inspired chocolate fountain and heaps of activities for LEGO lovers!
Grab a ticket for $6 and head along to the Wolfbrook Arena from 9am – 5pm Saturday and Sunday. Two-year-olds and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door on the day, more information here.
Nightlife Lantern Walk
Learn all about our special wildlife after dark at a lantern-lit walk through Riccarton Bush this weekend! This self-guided tour runs daily until 21 July, with lanterns lit between 5.30 – 7.30pm. Come and experience the natural world after dark.

Mid-Winter European Christmas
Get ready for a weekend of fun and activities at Riverside Market’s Mid-Winter European Christmas. There will be free activities for kids, Christmas delicacies and drinks from Riverside vendors, local food and beverage stalls, mulled wine, an appearance by Santa, festive tunes performed by local artists and a Christmas sleigh for the perfect photo op.

French Winter Market
Get ready for a taste of France at the French Winter Market on Sunday. Enjoy a day filled with French delights and cultural experiences. Explore a variety of stalls offering authentic French products, from delicious pastries and cheeses to artisan crafts and more.
Listen to live music with the French band Les Florettes and immerse yourself in French culture! The market will be on from 9am – 1pm at Alliance Française Christchurch, 275 Cashel Street.
Frances Hodgkins: Anything but a Still Life film screening
Explore the life and art of celebrated painter Frances Hodgkins with Director Blandine Massiet du Biest's debut feature film, Frances Hodgkins: Anything but a Still Life. The screening celebrates Frances’ work Zipp, which is currently on display at Christchurch Art Gallery.
Come along to the screening from 11am – 1pm Saturday at Christchurch Art Gallery, and stay for questions and answers with the director and curator Ken Hall afterwards. More information here.
