New Brighton Seaside Christmas Parade

Meet Santa on the beach at the New Brighton Seaside Christmas Parade this weekend. Shop around the seaside market for your Christmas gifts while listening to live entertainment and watch a fun community parade with Santa.

Look through arts, crafts and giftware and an array of food to enjoy. Come along to Central New Brighton from 10am to 2pm Saturday for the free parade.

Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre Pool Party

Grab your friends and family, pack your togs, towels and sunscreen and head down to Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre’s Pool Party from midday to 5pm Sunday. Slide down the massive inflatables and bounce your way through the obstacle slide and bouncy castle.

Get amongst the fun and join the manu competition, on from midday to 2pm. General pool admission price applies.

The Garden City Christmas Mākete

Head down to Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre for The Garden City Christmas Mākete on Saturday. Support over 60 local businesses with a wide variety of offerings from food, jewellery, artwork, handmade pottery and more.

Meet your favourite princesses and superheroes as they roam the market and enjoy face painting for kids and the young at heart. The market will be on from 10am – 4pm Saturday.

In your Community: A Woolston Brass Christmas!

Celebrate Christmas with the entire Woolston Brass family, encompassing Woolston Junior Band, Woolston Concert Brass and the Woolston Brass Band. This iconic Christchurch organisation presents a relaxed Christmas celebration in the north quad of Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre.

Come along from 3pm to 4.30pm Sunday to enjoy the free performance. This event is part of Festive Fun, a holiday season of programming running throughout December.

Mummies and Mayhem

A mass of ancient mummies are making mischief in the Teece Museum. Find all the marauding Lego mummies and pharaohs hidden around the gallery and unlock the code to their ancient treasure.

Search UC Teece Museum, 3 Hereford Street, until 12 January to get involved in this free event. This event is part of the Festive Fun programme at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre.
