Manu Competition - Te Hāpua Halswell Summer Pool

Get amongst the fun and join our manu competitions this summer to win prizes and become the Christchurch City Council manu champion. Pack your togs, towel, and sunscreen and gather your mates - show us what you’ve got at Te Hāpua Halswell Summer Pool on Sunday 10 December from midday to 2pm. The general pool admission price applies.

Christmas Spectacular

The Elves have been hard at work at Ferrymead Heritage Park blowing up bouncy castles, saddling up ponies and making sure Santa’s schedule is free to attend Saturday’s Christmas Spectacular. Enjoy rides on the trains and trams, explore the park and its many activities and exhibits, and get involved in face painting, a petting zoo, food and more. Admission fees are from $6.50.

Halswell Toy Library Christmas Toy Sale

Come along to the Halswell Toy Library Christmas Toy Sale on Saturday morning to check out a range of good quality second hand toys just in time for Christmas. The Toy Sale promotes a sustainable way to approach Christmas and reduce the impact we all have on landfill. Meet others in your community, browse the toy library, grab a bite from the bake sale and get involved in the raffle.

Christchurch South Community Garden Summer Market Day

The Christchurch South Community Garden Summer Market Day is on from 10am – 1pm this Saturday, with plants produce, preserves, baking, books and more available. Head down to the gardens at 188 Strickland Street Spreydon to support the sustainable Community Gardens. Please note this market is cash only.

Gender Euphoria Clothing Swap

As part of the Ōtautahi Creative Spaces Sanctuary exhibition, a gender affirming clothes swap event is being held at Tūranga from 11am - 3pm Sunday. Find something that makes you feel your best and browse through clothes with a creative twist. Art work as part of the Sanctuary exhibition will be displayed throughout the library until February 2024. 

A Woolston Brass Christmas

Celebrate Christmas with the Woolston Brass family, encompassing Woolston Junior Band, Woolston Concert Brass and the mighty Woolston Brass Band at a relaxed Christmas Celebration. Enjoy breathtaking performances in the North Quad at the Arts Centre from 3:30 – 4:15pm Saturday. This free event is part of Open Air, a relaxed programme of events running until early February 2024.
