Head to Hagley Park on Sunday between 1 and 4pm and help Christchurch break the New Zealand record for the most people hula hooping together in one place for at least two minutes.

In 2008 Christchurch set a New Zealand record when it got 60 people hula hooping in unison for two minutes, but a group in Invercargill  broke that record in 2009.  In2Hula, the organisers of The Super Heart Hoop-off, are determined to claim the record back.

They have organised Sunday's event to raise funds for the Heart Foundation and to help raise awareness of heart health.

If you want to take part in the Hoop-off you need to register. Registration costs $12, with the bulk of that money going to the Health Foundation. Family registration (two adults and up to three children) is available for $22.

The theme for the event is super heroes and dressing up is highly encouraged. Flat Man will be among those taking part in the event so come down and enjoy the fun.
