Anthony Harper Summer Theatre returns to the Botanic Gardens in January for a rapid-fire summer stage show full of songs, silliness and laugh-out-loud entertainment.

The all new and locally produced show HOWZAT! The Complete History of Kiwi Cricket packs nearly 200 years of cricket history into 80 minutes.

“This one isn’t just for cricket fans, the whole family will get a kick out of this fun show, staged by the Lyttelton Arts Factory,” says Christchurch City Council Events and Arts Manager Lucy Blackmore.

“Bring your deck chairs, picnic baskets, friends and whānau and settle in for a great show in the beautiful outdoor venue of the Botanic Gardens.”

The show was written by Gregory Cooper and Cal Wilson. Cooper is also directing the show, which was postponed from last summer due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“It is free entry but koha donations will be gratefully accepted by the Lyttleton Arts Factory,” says Ms Blackmore.

HOWZAT! The Complete History of Kiwi Cricket will run from Thursday 26 January – Sunday 12 February on the Botanic Garden’s Harper Lawn.

Shows will run at 6.30pm every night from Wednesday to Sunday, with additional matinees at 2pm on weekends and Waitangi Day.
