Consultation on Kyle Park has attracted many submissions.

However, the Christchurch City Council needs to make changes to the Kyle Park Management Plan and the area’s reserve classification to allow for the site development.

The Council has received 186 submissions on the reclassification and Management Plan change proposals, with 163 in favour and 23 in opposition.

Eight submitters have indicated that they want to speak in support of their submissions.

A Hearings Panel will be convened in June to consider all of the submissions and make a recommendation to the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board by early August.

If approved, the proposed changes will only apply to the north-east corner of the park, adjacent to Waterloo Road and Smarts Road.
